(Ontario, CA, April 6, 2016) – Prem Reddy, MD, FACC, FCCP, Chairman, President, and CEO of Prime Healthcare Services, has been named to Modern Healthcare’s prestigious list of the “50 Most Influential Physician Executives and Leaders” for 2016. This is the eighth time that Dr. Reddy has been recognized as among the top physician leaders in the nation.
Dr. Reddy, a board-certified cardiologist, was selected as the fifteenth most influential physician executive in the nation. Among other prestigious leaders, the list also includes Robert Califf, Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration; John Noseworthy, President and CEO of the Mayo Clinic; Toby Cosgrove, CEO of the Cleveland Clinic; and Dr. Patrick Conway, deputy administrator for innovation and quality, chief medical officer at the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
“I am honored to be recognized again this year along with so many talented leaders who truly understand our core business of caring for human beings,” said Dr. Reddy. “I believe that in order to be most successful, healthcare must be patient-centered, safe, evidence-based, and physician-led with each member of the team playing a critical role in delivering efficient, compassionate, and cost-effective care to patients.”
According to Modern Healthcare, its list “honors physicians working in the health care industry who are deemed by their peers and an expert panel to be the most influential in terms of demonstrating leadership and impact. These physician leaders are innovators, excel in community services, and demonstrate reputable executive authority.”
One of Prime Healthcare’s values is “physician-led,” and Prime Healthcare’s business model includes Chief Medical Officers in each of its hospitals so that medicine is directed by those who practice it. As founder and CEO, Dr. Reddy has led Prime Healthcare to become the fifth largest for-profit healthcare system in the country with 42 hospitals in 14 states and more than 42,000 employees.
Prime Healthcare believes that exceptional healthcare should be a part of every community and has a proud history of transforming financially distressed hospitals into thriving community assets. Under Dr. Reddy’s leadership, Prime Healthcare and its hospitals have earned national recognition among the “100 Top Hospitals” in the nation more than 30 times based on quality, and among the “15 Top Health Systems” multiple times, in addition to numerous other quality and safety awards and recognitions.
