Ontario, Calif., March 2, 2015 – Prime Healthcare announced today that it has completed its acquisition of two hospitals from subsidiaries of Community Health Systems: Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, Texas, and Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Alabama, as well as related outpatient services.

“Prime Healthcare looks forward to continuing extraordinary care at both Dallas Regional and Riverview Regional,” said Prem Reddy, MD, FACC, FCCP, Chairman, President, and CEO of Prime Healthcare Services. “We plan to support the hard work and dedication of the physicians, nurses, and employees in their mission to provide quality healthcare to their communities.”

Dallas Regional Medical Center, founded in 1926, is a 202-bed acute-care hospital serving Dallas County in Texas and the surrounding area. It has approximately 550 employees and is one of the largest employers in Mesquite. The facility offers a full range of services and programs, including a da Vinci Surgical System, Heart, and Vascular Center, MAKO Robotic Surgery System, and Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center. It is accredited by the Joint Commission, the nation’s leading organization in setting healthcare standards and accrediting facilities in the United States. The addition of Dallas Regional will give Prime Healthcare a presence of five facilities in Texas, adding to Dallas Medical Center, Harlingen Medical Center, Knapp Medical Center, and Pampa Regional Medical Center

Located in Gadsden, Alabama, Riverview Regional Medical Center is a 281-bed acute-care hospital serving more than 350,000 residents in Etowah and the contiguous counties. A full range of services and programs are offered, including an Endoscopy and Bronchoscopy Lab, Heartburn Treatment Center, Imaging Center, Sleep Lab, and Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center. Riverview Regional Medical Center is also accredited by the Joint Commission. Riverview Regional Medical Center was originally founded in 1926 by the Sisters of the Missionary Servants of the Most Blessed Trinity. Riverview will be Prime Healthcare’s first facility in Alabama and will have the support of Prime facilities in nearby states.

“We are pleased to welcome these facilities into the Prime Healthcare family,” said Luis Leon, President of Operations for Prime Healthcare. “As Prime’s numerous awards and accolades show, we will be able to provide top-quality management expertise and clinical support to these facilities, allowing them to thrive and continue to be valuable community assets.”
